Last year, my family decided to go to one of the most incredible eco places in Egypt, which is Siwa Oasis. Siwa Oasis is located around 350 miles from Cairo in the Western Desert. Siwa Oasis is a major reserve in Egypt that will charm you with its natural beauty. It is highly recognised for its cultural, biological and environmental value. I am so happy I visited it.

 

On the one hand, tourism developed in Siwa some 15 years ago, which helped enable the village to benefit from the positive economic outcome of developing Siwa’s attractions including the traditional handicrafts. As soon as you step off the bus onto the dusty street you are welcomed with a refreshing slow life atmosphere. An atmosphere that is aligned with the rich and historic culture of the place. Furthermore, the date palm cultivation today is by far the largest component of Siwa’s economy.

 

One the other hand, the natural attractions, the eco-friendly lifestyle and life there encouraged us to go there for refreshment and relaxation. There are so many attractions in Siwa where you can pass your time and enjoy the weather there; such as Shali Fortress, Amon Temple, Cleopatra`s Bath, etc. Although many people come to Egypt to explore the tombs of Luxor, there are also ancient tombs in Siwa, such as Gabal Al-Mawta (Mountain of the Dead). The ruins there are also a popular tourist attraction. This comes in addition to the natural, organic foods, drinks and whole lifestyle there, which make you feel healthy, relaxed and comfortable.

 

In brief, we really enjoyed our trip to Siwa, which is really worth visiting. I would recommend visiting Siwa because it is miles away from anything I experienced in cities along the Nile. Also, Siwa is calm, relaxed and easy to explore under your own steam.
