U1-1.   My Family’s Daily Routine

My family’s routine is always the same every day. All the family members, my father, mother, sister and me, get up at 6 o’clock. We take showers and pray, then have our breakfast. My mom prepares our breakfast. After having the breakfast, my father gets dressed to go to his work at 7 o’clock. He works in a hospital. I and my sister also get dressed to go to our school at 7 o’clock. We study our lessons and have break at 10 o’clock. During the break, we meet our friends and play different sports with them. At 2 o’clock, we go back home. Father also returns home at 2 o’clock. We change our clothes and have lunch together, then have some sleep. At the weekend, all the family goes to the garden where we meet other families, play with their children and take photos together. I like the weekend because I meet all my friends. 

2.  My House Description

Moving to a new house is really fun. I’m very happy that we have moved to a new house recently. Our new house is really nice. I love it very much. Our house is in the city by the sea. It is big and consists of two floors. We live in the first floor. Each floor has a flat which consists of four rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. One room is for my parents, two rooms are for me and my brother, and the fourth is for my father’s study. Our house has a large garden and a swimming pool. In the garden I enjoy playing with my friends and neighbours. They are kind and friendly. We all love our new house.

U2-1.  A Job I like

There are many jobs which I like such as the job of the teachers, doctors, engineers, policemen, nurses, etc. But the job which I like most is the job of the nurse. It is really a difficult and maybe dangerous job. Nurses do us a favour because they help our patients to be well and get recovered. They stay late at night at the hospitals and look after the sick people. They sometimes work at the weekends and do not enjoy them as most of us usually do. They also help the doctors and see the people who are injured in accidents and the people who die in front of them. It is really a hard and difficult job.

U3-1.  What Makes a Hero

A hero can be a doctor who saves a patient’s life, a policeman who serves his country, a person who can teach the people who do not know how to read or write how to read and write and makes a big difference in their life. In fact, a hero is someone who makes a difference in others’ life. The actions can make big differences even if they are small.

2.  Someone I’m proud of

My mother is my hero. I'm proud of her. She is a housewife. Although she graduated at the university as a teacher, she refused to work in order to care for her family and children. My mother always stays late for our comfort. She works hard at home and does all the house work because my sisters are still young. She does everything such as cooking, helping us with our lessons, washing and cleaning, and refuses to bring any one to help her with her work. When one of us is sick, my mother stays with him or her until he or she gets well. She does not complain or tell us that she is sick. She is really great and my hero in patience, love and hard work.

U4-1.  A Historical Place I Visited

There are many historical places to visit everywhere in our lovely country Egypt, such as the pyramids of Giza, Luxor Temples, the Egyptian Museum, etc. Last summer holiday I visited the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The visit was really great and exciting. It was my first time to see the statues and gold objects. I saw many tourists there who were happy seeing our great civilisation. There, there were more than one floor. There was a guide to help us. The guide told us not to touch these objects to keep them safe for our country. I took many photos with my friends and some tourists from all over the world. I was very friendly with the tourists and tried to help them to get around the museum. I enjoyed the visit very much and will go there again and again. I am waiting for the Grand Museum to be opened to visit it.

U5-1.  Random Acts of Kindness

It is really great to do some acts of kindness for those whom you know or those whom you do not even know. For that reason, I have decided to make some usual acts of kindness as much as I can with both those whom I know and those whom I do not know. For example, I bought some books for my grandfather because I know he lives alone and loves reading. He was very happy with that and thanked me. Also, I helped an old woman carrying a heavy bag to cross the street that was full of moving cars. She was very happy and safe. She prayed for me. Also, I saw a poor man waiting in front of a restaurant. He was very hungry, but he did not have any money on him. I bought some sandwiches for him and gave him some of my pocket money. He was very happy and thanked me. I was very happy to see that man also happy. It is really great to be kind and do some acts of kindness.

2.  A Story I read

I like reading stories, especially the short ones. Stories can give us examples and morals which can help us in our life. One of the short stories which I read last week was entitled “The Boy and the Old Man”. The story was about a young boy who was poor and a man who was rich. One day in winter the man was walking in the rainy dark street when the boy was waiting for his father to come from his work. The man took out his wallet but couldn’t see the money the fell down from his wallet. The poor boy was very honest. He did not wait for his father to come to ask him what to do. He saw the money on the ground, took it and hurried up to reach the rich man. He gave him the money. The man thanked him and gave him some money as a reward. The poor boy refused, but the man insisted. The poor boy was very happy and told his father the story. The father thanked his son for his good work.

U6-1.  Climate Change

Climate has changed. Climate change has bad effects on our planet. The rise of temperature can cause serious problems to all those who live on Earth, people, animals, plants, etc. Also, climate change can have bad effects on the ice on top of the mountains because when the ice melts, it can cause floods. In fact, we should help save and protect the environment by stopping this rise in the temperature. Some places on Earth are in a great danger because of climate change. Countries should use solar panels in the streets instead of fuels that cause carbon dioxide. We should use green energy and keep our planet. Actually, Egypt is on the right path in this field.

2.  My Home City

My home city is Alexandria. I like it very much. It is located in the north of Egypt. It has a famous port on the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Egypt. It has many beautiful beaches. The water is clean. You can enjoy many watersports. The weather is very nice. It has many famous places for tourists to visit. They can visit the Alexandria Library. It has many books on different topics. They can visit the Citadel of Qaitbay (Qaitbay Fort). It's near the sea. It has a museum. Alexandria has El Montazah Palace, which is a nice place for a picnic. Alexandria is a good place for a holiday. I like Alexandria very much.

3.  Recycling at Home

Recycling means to use things and objects again and again. Recycling at home is very important and easy. There are many things that can be recycled, such as glass bottles, plastic bottles, clothes, books, carpets, etc. It is not just newspapers that can be recycled at home. All plastic bottles can be recycled (reused) at home after washing and cleaning them. They can be used for growing plants and making pencil cases. We can use all kinds of containers and boxes to organise children's toys. In fact, recycling saves a lot of money and energy. If we don't recycle things, they will pollute our environment. We should ask ourselves before we throw away things and objects that can be recycled (reused).
